Delaware County officials have announced plans for a new community center aimed at enhancing recreational opportunities for residents. The proposal was presented during a public meeting on December 12, 2025, at the county courthouse.
The new center is expected to host various activities and programs, including fitness classes, youth sports leagues, and community events. Construction is slated to begin in early 2026, with an estimated completion date in 2027.
Local officials, including County Commissioner Jane Doe and Parks Director John Smith, emphasized the project’s importance in promoting community engagement and wellness. Funding for the center will come from a combination of state grants and local taxpayer contributions.
This initiative follows previous successful projects, including the renovation of local parks and the introduction of outdoor recreation programs. The community center is anticipated to be a cornerstone for social interaction and active living in Delaware County.
Residents interested in learning more about the project or offering input can attend the next county meeting on January 10, 2026. Also, a survey will be available online for feedback before the construction phase begins.
